The 7th season of the show, starring Patricia Arquette, is coming to DVD on June 21st when CBS and Paramount Home Entertainment release Medium - The Final Season. The 4-DVD package running 563 minutes is presented in anamorphic widescreen video, with English 5.1 Stereo Surround and English subtitles. You'll also get the following list of extras, all enclosed in the packaging that is shown at bottom:

MEDIUM is the drama inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison Dubois, an extraordinary wife and mother who, since childhood, has struggled to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. Dubois is a strong-willed, devoted wife and mother of three girls who has gradually come to grips with her extraordinary ability to talk to dead people, see current events and the future through her dreams and read people's thoughts.

MEDIUM revolves not only around the fact that Allison Dubois (Patricia Arquette) is psychic, but that she has a family. For seven seasons, the audience has watched the Dubois daughters – sensitive Ariel, forthright Bridget and little Marie – grow up on camera. Likewise, actresses Sofia Vassilieva (Ariel), now eighteen, Maria Lark (Bridget), now thirteen, and identical twins Madison and Miranda Carabello (sharing the role of Marie), now eight, have spent a significant portion of their lives acting in the Dubois household.

The long-running MEDIUM airs its final new episode tonight on CBS. This interview was conducted while it was not known whether there would be an eighth season. Here’s what they had to say.

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 21, 2011: The series finale of "Medium," up by over 1 million from its penultimate offering, led the way for CBS to take Friday night. Another big entry for the evening was the new time slot for FOX's "Fringe," which performed well, if down by about 8 percent in total viewers from it's last original airing in its Thursday spot. It also showed slight improvement over last Friday's 9:00 p.m. entry, "Human Target."

Overall, CBS led with 7.2 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/8 share among households. NBC came in second at 5.8 million, 3.7/6, followed by ABC in fourth with 4.9 million and a 3.2/6, just ahead of fourth place entry FOX, which posted 4.6 million and a 2.6/5. CW reruns brought in 1.4 million and a 0.9/2. FOX fared much better in the 18-49 demo, winning the night with a 1.9. ABC (1.4) came in second, followed by tied CBS and NBC (1.3) and The CW (0.5) in last. [SOURCE]

Medium has taken its fans on some intensely crazy rides over the course of seven seasons. Why should the finale be different? The CBS fright series — the victim of low ratings — will end its run tonight with the episode "Me Without You," which starts with psychic Allison Dubois and her family in the present day and follows them 48 years into the future.

Guess ABC is not swooping in to save Medium. After seven seasons, this supernatural show/mystery/domestic drama is coming to an end. Was it revolutionary? No. But it featured one of the most realistic families on television (all the psychics aside), its leads had tremendous chemistry, and I for one will miss it. Let's take a moment to list some of my favorite episodes.

Though CBS cut the episodic order on Medium from 22 to 13 last month, the network has not said whether the drama has officially been canned. But star Patricia Arquette is saying as much: The actress told EW that “we got canceled” and the show only has two more episodes to shoot.

“I was trying to get information from the writers about the last episode,” Arquette told EW this weekend while attending a gala at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. “I don’t know what it’s going to be, but they’re really excited about it. They’re like, `we’re just going to burn the whole thing down!’ I’m really excited.” She’s not looking forward to saying goodbye, however. “It’s been a great time. I love that time in my life.”

The CBS-owned Medium, which airs Fridays at 8 p.m., is currently averaging 7.1 million viewers. – With reporting from Nicholas White [SOURCE]

CBS president of entertainment Nina Tassler told reporters on Saturday that both of the network's Friday-night genre shows—Ghost Whisperer and Medium—are in the running for renewal next season, though no decisions have been made.

"Medium is doing fine, and it will absolutely be considered for next year," Tassler said in a press conference in Pasadena, Calif., for the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

CBS picked up Medium after NBC declined to put it on its 2009-'10 schedule. Ghost Whisperer has been a mainstay on CBS and also has a good shot at returning. "Nothing's a lock, but it's absolutely in consideration for next year," Tassler said in a group interview following the press conference.

The Medium writers have toyed with the idea of the Dubois girls and their connection to the supernatural before, but never quite like this. In the past the story has always revolved around more of a what if, or what will be, question. Here, there was danger, by the bucketful. Ariel, as you can gather from the picture, had gone a little bit darkside. And that served to ratchet up the tension for Allison all the more.

If I had to put it in a nutshell, I’d say “Who’s That Girl?” was a bit hit and miss. By the time we got to the end, with the showdown between Allison and Elena, it was two thumbs up, to be sure. But getting there … it was a little rocky. Starting with the biggest of the rocks, what was up with the history of murder opening? Yeah, you never know who people really are. And seemingly good people do some horrific things. But couldn’t that bit be run at the beginning of every episode of Medium ever? It just felt completely off, and the episode worked just fine without it even being there.

CBS has posted the new promo for next week’s episode of Medium, “Who’s That Girl.” It’s a possession episode in which Ariel is taken over by a stripper hell-bent on revenge. We’ve got smoking, we’ve got guns, and we’ve got Allison freaking out. It looks like a great episode, and I’m really looking forward to Sofia Vassilieva taking center stage.

Daemon's TV has Uploaded Two New Images from the second episode of Season Six, "Who's that Girl" (all this episode title does is make me think of the song by Eve), the description and images themselves are quite spoilerific if you haven't already seen them, so if you wish to be UnSpoiled, then do not click on the cut below. I dunno why they just didn't upload the rest of the image set from the episode as well.
