Sofia Vassilieva has a lot to talk about these days. The girl walked the red carpet alongside Cameron Diaz for Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, accompanied by Abigail Breslin. The three fellow co-stars of the movie, “My sister’s Keeper” posed together for photographs.

Sofia Vassilieva looked quite a combination of an innocent beauty. Her new hair style gave her a chic yet adorable; grown up yet innocent. But how she would fit the new look with her on-screen character of “Ariel” in “Medium” is still a matter of debate, since “Ariel” has always flaunted long hair. Now the spooky drama based on the real life story of a psychic using her powers to solve criminal cases is heading for a switch in network, it is in a wait and watch state.

10 summer movies with a shot at awards glory

In my world, it’s never too early to start talking about the Oscars. Awards season has become a yearlong marathon and I’m just feeding the beast. With that in mind, here are 10 summer movies that voters could still be talking about this winter.

Best Supporting Actress: I’ve heard Leslie “Apatow’s Wo-“ Mann steals the show in “Funny People,” (her husband always knows how to use her comic skills) and Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard returns to the bigscreen as Depp’s squeeze in “Public Enemies,” but there’s one actress you can never count out of the awards race and that’s Meryl Streep, who is rumored to give a delicious performance as Julia Child in “Julie & Julia.” I also wouldn’t discount the young duo of Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva who star in the cancer drama “My Sister’s Keeper.”

Sofia Vassilieva: Cameron Diaz Gave Me Strength

Sofia Vassilieva faces plenty of challenges on the NBC hit Medium, playing a teen who discovers she has the same powers as her psychic mom. But what Vassilieva goes through in prime-time hardly measures up to what she suffers through on the big screen in My Sister's Keeper.

In the film, directed by Nick Cassavetes, Vassilieva plays a girl stricken with cancer whose mother (Cameron Diaz) is determined to save her, no matter what. Sofia, who shaved her head for the role, told Parade.com's Jeanne Wolf that there were moments when she wondered if she was going to be able to pull it off.
