The 7th season of the show, starring Patricia Arquette, is coming to DVD on June 21st when CBS and Paramount Home Entertainment release Medium - The Final Season. The 4-DVD package running 563 minutes is presented in anamorphic widescreen video, with English 5.1 Stereo Surround and English subtitles. You'll also get the following list of extras, all enclosed in the packaging that is shown at bottom:

MEDIUM is the drama inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison Dubois, an extraordinary wife and mother who, since childhood, has struggled to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. Dubois is a strong-willed, devoted wife and mother of three girls who has gradually come to grips with her extraordinary ability to talk to dead people, see current events and the future through her dreams and read people's thoughts.

MEDIUM revolves not only around the fact that Allison Dubois (Patricia Arquette) is psychic, but that she has a family. For seven seasons, the audience has watched the Dubois daughters – sensitive Ariel, forthright Bridget and little Marie – grow up on camera. Likewise, actresses Sofia Vassilieva (Ariel), now eighteen, Maria Lark (Bridget), now thirteen, and identical twins Madison and Miranda Carabello (sharing the role of Marie), now eight, have spent a significant portion of their lives acting in the Dubois household.

The long-running MEDIUM airs its final new episode tonight on CBS. This interview was conducted while it was not known whether there would be an eighth season. Here’s what they had to say.

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 21, 2011: The series finale of "Medium," up by over 1 million from its penultimate offering, led the way for CBS to take Friday night. Another big entry for the evening was the new time slot for FOX's "Fringe," which performed well, if down by about 8 percent in total viewers from it's last original airing in its Thursday spot. It also showed slight improvement over last Friday's 9:00 p.m. entry, "Human Target."

Overall, CBS led with 7.2 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/8 share among households. NBC came in second at 5.8 million, 3.7/6, followed by ABC in fourth with 4.9 million and a 3.2/6, just ahead of fourth place entry FOX, which posted 4.6 million and a 2.6/5. CW reruns brought in 1.4 million and a 0.9/2. FOX fared much better in the 18-49 demo, winning the night with a 1.9. ABC (1.4) came in second, followed by tied CBS and NBC (1.3) and The CW (0.5) in last. [SOURCE]

Medium has taken its fans on some intensely crazy rides over the course of seven seasons. Why should the finale be different? The CBS fright series — the victim of low ratings — will end its run tonight with the episode "Me Without You," which starts with psychic Allison Dubois and her family in the present day and follows them 48 years into the future.

Guess ABC is not swooping in to save Medium. After seven seasons, this supernatural show/mystery/domestic drama is coming to an end. Was it revolutionary? No. But it featured one of the most realistic families on television (all the psychics aside), its leads had tremendous chemistry, and I for one will miss it. Let's take a moment to list some of my favorite episodes.

After two networks and more than 125 episodes, "Medium" will come to an end this January. CBS confirmed the foregone conclusion of the "Medium" cancellation on Thursday (Nov. 18) morning, revealing that the show's last episode will air on January 21.

Nobody was particularly surprised by the news, since Star Patricia Arquette said as much earlier in the week, just days after reports broke that CBS wouldn't be picking up a back-nine for the supernatural drama. In a message to fans, series creator Glenn Gordon Caron wrote, "It's true. Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on 'Medium,' Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink."

"Medium" premiered on NBC in January of 2005. Not only was the show a popular success, but it earned Arquette an Emmy that same year. Arquette would go on to earn three Golden Globe nominations and a second Emmy nod for the series.

Though CBS cut the episodic order on Medium from 22 to 13 last month, the network has not said whether the drama has officially been canned. But star Patricia Arquette is saying as much: The actress told EW that “we got canceled” and the show only has two more episodes to shoot.

“I was trying to get information from the writers about the last episode,” Arquette told EW this weekend while attending a gala at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. “I don’t know what it’s going to be, but they’re really excited about it. They’re like, `we’re just going to burn the whole thing down!’ I’m really excited.” She’s not looking forward to saying goodbye, however. “It’s been a great time. I love that time in my life.”

The CBS-owned Medium, which airs Fridays at 8 p.m., is currently averaging 7.1 million viewers. – With reporting from Nicholas White [SOURCE]

Sofia Vassilieva and Abigail Breslin show their support as they arrive at the Stand Up To Cancer telethon held at Sony Pictures Studios on Friday afternoon (September 10) in Culver City, Calif.

The former My Sister’s Keeper costars helped out with answering phones at the event. JJJr. recently caught up with Sofia and found out that while she still stars as Ariel in Medium, she’ll actually be heading to college on the east coast!

Sofia shared with us, “The writers are actually writing Ariel so she’s going off to college, just like me. So I love that. I’m actually majoring Business Econ. I don’t know why, I’m crazy. I’ve always been a math and science nerd so I’m really excited.”

It's "High School Musical" all over again, only without the singing, or dancing or even the music. The Disney pop sensation, Ashley Tisdale, who played Sharpay Evans in all three musicals, has signed on to star in the new CW pilot, "Hellcats." And, just like in "High School Musical," she'll be bringing a whole lot of attitude with her. Tisdale will play Sierra, the intense captain of the Hellcats who will make her previous Sharpay character seem tame by comparison.

“I’m so excited for this project," she posted on her official blog. "I love the cast I’m working with and am so thrilled with the character I get to play.”

Former "Medium" actress, Sofia Vassilieva, has also joined the cast of the show, and will star alongside another well known Disney face, rock-chick Aly Michalka. Michalka has landed the lead role in the pilot and former "NYPD Blue" actress, Gail O'Grady, will play her mother. The series is being produced by "Smallville" star, Tom Welling, and will film shortly after filming wraps on the shows ninth season.

Sofia Vassilieva recently joined the Stand Up For Cancer campaign, which both Patricia and her Sister Rosanna Arquette have done work for. Vassilieva says that she was inspired to get involved with the charity after playing a cancer patient in My Sister’s Keeper, and seeing the resilience of young cancer patients first-hand. According to the video, Stand Up To Cancer has raised over 100 million dollars in just under two years of existence. You can watch Vassilieva’s interview, as well as another PSA featuring such stars as Renee Zellwegger and Rob Lowe, below.

Recently, we saw a video in which Rosanna Arquette interviewed her sister, Patricia Arquette, about how cancer has affected their lives. The interview was done for the charity, Stand Up To Cancer, and now, Sofia Vassilieva is working with them.

The spot was filmed recently, as Vassilieva has the short bob she’s been sporting lately. It’s only a 15-second spot, but it’s quite well-done, and it’s always nice to see celebrities, especially young ones, working with charitable organizations. You can watch the spot below:
